The lucky streak ends.....?

I go to the pub today to meet a few friends and get some dinner and decide to see if my lucky streak is still running. I put a few pounds in the fruit machine and for the 4th or 5th time in a row now it gave me the mega streak and £45. Then a football match starts, I don't bet so much nowadays but to have an interest I put £100 on. My friend assures me it will be Everton 2-2 Aston Villa. Aston Villa are leading 2-1 when in the last minute of the game Everton score to make it 2-2. My friend jumps in the air, but wait....with a few seconds of the game left Aston Villa break away and win the game 3-2. Was that the end of my lucky streak? HELL NO, I had backed Villa to win. UNBELIEVABLE!

I use the word luck often yet I don't really believe in it, most of the things that happen in life are because we make them. Sure you can be unlucky and be in a car crash, but if you never chose to go in the car it would not have happened. Everything that happens is part of a chain of events. In poker you may lose AA v 27o but if you actually play good you will realise it is just variance and not bad luck. AA can't win everytime. Luck is something that losers rely on to occasionally be a winner.

Just to extend my now renamed 'hot streak' (seeing as the word luck is now erased)... my ex girlfriend is kind of speaking to me now. It is a long and difficult path but at least some progress is being made. Do I wan't to go out with her again? I don't really know, I just know she is very special to me so I have to at least get rid of some ill feeling which was created by other people intefering.

I come home with a few hours left on the weekly leaderboards and sure as night follows day I record another success to make it 9/9 weeks. I even almost managed to check raise somebody on the flop, turn and river earlier. It is very hard to do this in poker, most of all because if you have check raised somebody on the flop and turn you won't usually check the river as it is most likely they check back and you have missed a value bet. In this instance I knew my opponent pretty well and correctly assumed that if I checked the river he would fire. It's just a shame he did not bet less so that I could reraise...

My aims for this week are to win the top two leaderboards to make it ten in a row, lose 4lbs in weight, go to the gym at least three times and most importantly of all make some progress in rebuilding relations with my special girl. Talking of girls, more mystery was put on me today with regards to the absolutely stunning girl in Las Vegas. She had just vanished when I went back to Las Vegas and I could not work it out. I left a door open by speaking to a man in Vegas who can do things and two weeks later today i recieve an email:


Lee,Its Rudy in Las Vegas. I met you at the taxi line at ######## Hotel and Casino. I just wanted to follow up with you on the status of Corina the ###### Dealer. I haven’t been able to locate her. I have spoken to almost all the other #####dealers, some know her but haven’t seen her. I checked all the work schedules and there is only one Corina and she is on a LOA ( Leave Of Absence). I will continue to check for you and if I do find her I will let you know. Please let me know if you get this message. Thank you

Some words have been blanked out for obvious reasons. So I meet an absolutely stunning girl who invites me to go out for ice cream with her and a week later she has simply vanished. Very weird and hopefully someday I get to the bottom of this! What a year first I mess up with the world's most amazing girl, and then I mess up with the world's most beautiful girl! Time for some sleep goodnight people and remember life is about making good decisions and not getting lucky.
