Mr Lucky....

Lately everything I touch turns to gold. The last four visits to the pub I have won the jackpot in the fruit machine for just a few pounds, if I put a bet on a horse it wins, if I back a football team one goal down in running they will win. One of my friends said today you are so lucky with money but unlucky in love. I agreed but then when I got home I thought about it, it is not luck...it is what you make of a situation. When you mess up putting it down to bad luck is the easy option, I am so lucky in love. I met the dream girl but I did not make the most of it and I MESSED it up, nothing to do with luck. I am confident that I can rectify the situation also as it is not down to luck. Whatever I say she won't believe now but the bottom line is her new guy is seeing other girls behind her back, kinda funny as she is so beautiful and he is hardly the best looking guy in the world. I may make mistake of saying and doing silly things but I would never be stupid enough to two time, especially if my girlfriend was so amazing and beautiful anyways! Well anyways I will take a back seat now and hopefully she finds out sooner rather than later what he is really like. Now onto poker...

Cutting back on alcohol lately as I do so many silly things when drunk. So I have just three drinks in the pub watching the football today and go home early, I see mr NORI in a $10,000 SNG and insta join. If I win I double my average weeks profits and if I lose i lose a weeks money. For this reason I decide to sell 50% of the game to somebody else. I am confident my edge is so big over the guy I generally don't want to be getting chips in unless I am 80%+ to win. After all its $20,000/£14,000 for the winner. For this reason I end up going low in chips yet I eventually won. Here are several interesting hands where I fold top pair and keep the pot small with a set plus the obligatary bad beat!:

Well if I played those hands well or poorly irelevent now as I won the $20,000. Another success at the highest of stakes!

Now for the leaderboards, they have run for 8 weeks and I have won the top two all 8 of those weeks. One day to go this week and I am second on both. Usually I would sit in the games of the leaders and crush them but this week one is a friend and the other is a decent guy so I will do it the harder way and just hammer the tables for a few hours! The guy on the second leaderboard is really going for it, poor git hasn't a chance yet like the others he still tries. I am holding so much back in reserve at the moment and simply doing the bare minimum to win the leaderboards and get the $2000 a week bonus. I was actually thinking about not winning them this week but then decided seeing as I have won them every week since they started I may as well keep it up.

Several posts back I posted some new year resolutions, one was to make £250,000 in 2009. Well I have scrapped all plans now and made new ones. Money means fuck all in life, I can be self centered and I wish to change that. So my main priority in 2009 is to be more thoughful and hopefully make amends with my ex girlfriend and be there for her when she finds out her new guy is a cheating rat.

Now I have just remembered the reason I made the initial title 'Mr Lucky'. Leaving the pub after the football when I bumped into a guy I know. I know him through friends and his wife, she died recently from cancer...she was only in her forties. Lovely lady who died so young and left behind a man with children again so young yet lost his loved one. Unless your life is utter shit it is such a stroke of luck simply being alive, everytime I feel sorry for myself I see something that makes me realise how lucky I am. Today it was the reminder of such a nice lady dying so young from cancer, in Las Vegas it was seeing the person with one leg. I must remember to stop complaining when things go wrong. I am so lucky in so many ways. 2009 will be a great year I can feel it, to do my bit I am going to make the effort and try to become a better person generally. Hopefully by the end of 2009 I am back with the lovely Scarlett and sod the money it means nothing! Either way I will be a better person. On a side note, new diet is going well. First week and I have lost 5 pound. Simply by only drinking at the pub three days a week! Well on target to lose 2 stone by easter and get that 6-pack back! Life is great, poker is great, god bless England!
