I feel sick at the moment so I won't post now but I promise the post that I write next all those who read that gamble will appreciate it.

Happy Christmas....

Don't know what is so happy about it! I done most of my drinking on Monday and Tuesday night, my final drink on Tuesday was a bottle of champagne that I downed in fifteen seconds. Absolutely ruined me!! Haven't played hardly any poker during the last week, in fact during the last three days I have played around 30 minutes total. I was going home early then changed my mind and went back to one of my local pubs. It has two sides to it and one bar has probably around 30 regulars. They are people of all ages and from all walks of life, you can pretty much always go there and have random conversations over a few beers with any one of them. The more I think about it the greater a place it is, just because of the people who go there. I have been very drunk a few times recently and I haven't heard any bad stories of me upsetting anyone the next day but just in case I found out 14 staff are on the rota and I got each of them a christmas present for putting up with me! There were a few good looking ladies in the pub tonight, I would guess 200 people were in there. One lady was absolutely unbelievable, I couldn't bring it in me to speak to her though. Why you may ask, have I lost my bottle! Absolutely stunning girl looking amazing and I didn't try it on....you may have guessed it, it was my ex girlfriend. Damn she looked so good tonight! Obviously loads of regrets still but I wasn't too upset until they played 'Last Christmas', that was painful even though we were not together last Christmas. Still in the next few months I am sure we will become friends again, only so long she can be fooled by a cheating rat. Well back to the pub, I felt so bad from the night before I didn't drink too much by my standards but when I have a think off of the top of my head I drank the following:

2 pints of Stella
1 Double vodka and orange
2 pints of strongbow
1 bottle of cider
3 double vodka lime and sodas
1 pint of guiness

I always drink random and different drinks, I rarely stick to the same drink for an entire night. Maybe thats what makes me so drunk. In fact I was so drunk last night I dropped £240 in the taxi and did not realise. The guy came back to my house and gave the money! I called him back today and tried to give him some money but he refused anything! Maybe I dropped more and he kept some money!

I managed to get a teddy bear for free in Selfridges. I borrowed my friends son and gave a sob story how he was a poor orphan. I got the teddy bear and then passed my friends son back to him. I said there is your son back, the girl behind the chocolate counter said I am a bastard ooops. Funny time in Selfridges actually, a girl on the perfume stand was up her arse so I told her do you come from Southend by any chance. She was absolutely livid that I was calling her an Essex girl! Decided that the first person to serve us in the local would get the teddy bear, thankfully it was a girl and not a guy!

Anyways the good stories will be back around April when I go back to Vegas. Until then more crappy stories of low stake grinding. So happy christmas everyone, remember when you have a good person in your life never let them go....and if you find out someone is cheating on them don't tell them as they won't believe you!

Fuck it, its christmas and i am a bit drunk...let me sit on a 100/200 table with 20k and see what happens..........

I love Burberry....kind of!

I have never liked the chav that is burberry. However that has changed this morning, I woke up with the smell of perfume from one of the girls from last night. It was made by burberry and it smelt amazing! I can't really say too much about last night as I have been sworn to secrecy. So now on to poker...

Betfair have been running three leaderboards per week for 11 weeks now and in the ten weeks prior to this one I had won the heavyweight and the middleweight leaderboard in the same week nine times the only week I never won them both I came 1st and 2nd. So this week having spent most of friday and saturday night in various pubs and clubs I had slipped behind a bit. Waking up with a hangover today the last thing I wanted to do was play. However with four hours left today I blitzed the tables and once again retained the two leaderboard titles for which I get in the region of £1300. The last few weeks I have been leaving it until the dying hours to take the lead which hasn't been a good idea as I have been drinking so much over the weekend. With Christmas and New Years Eve coming up I am not sure exactly how much I will play, we shall soon see.

Several people have asked me why I am not playing many high staked games at the moment. I did actually play two $10,000 games this month but in general am still playing mainly lower stakes as I had issues relating to my ex girlfriend. The good news is I feel I finally have some closure on this. Quite simply her boyfriend has seen a few girls behind her back, quite a few people know yet haven't told her. I didn't even tell her at first but one afternoon she was lecturing me and I snapped and told her. Naturally he lied about it and she chose to believe him. Since then we have argued a lot mainly due to her thinking I was lying and me getting frustrated at her not believing me and lots of her so called friends not telling her. Its all relative to poker as this has been causing so many swings with my bankroll. However the goods news for those who read this blog is that she won't be mentioned again here which means more crazy Vegas style stories and pictures. Too much has been said now so I don't even ever want to talk to her until she can apologise. Still she is a stubborn cow so I doubt that will happen, surely in the end the truth will come out but then I guess when it does I won't be bitter and try and rub it in saying I told you so. I hope that she copes through the inevitable fallout well and I guess I would be there for her anyways.

So now on to my targets for 2009, it shall be a busy year hopefully and I have a feeling it will be one of my best yet. I am absolutely determined to get back in shape. Whilst I doubt I will ever get back in the condition I was in during my late teens and early twenties I am sure I can come close. In the three weeks since I have come back from America I have lost ten pounds in weight, this is without much exercise and mainly down to cutting back on alcohol. I want to lose around 25lb more in weight and I hope to achieve that by May, then after that I can work on some toning. This has to be my main aim for the year. With poker I had kind of set some targets but I guess this will just take care of itself. So long as I avoid more than a few big losing sessions I will be fine no doubt. If I feel the property market has bottomed out towards the end of the year I will try and buy one of three houses that I have been looking at for over a year now! Two of them may be riculous money still, one definitely won't be. The rental for my flat will always easily cover the mortgage and it won't be hard to rent considering the refurb I have given it. Now the hardest change to make will be the Punterz/Me relationship. The two of us are very different, yet over the years many similarities are forming. Online I like to get under peoples skins, annoy them etc. I am not there to make friends, I am there to take your money as my main priority. However often away from poker I have started to get too flash at times and it really isn't cool, especially during the current recession when so many are struggling. So in 2009 I am going to generally try and be less extravagent and nicer to people in general. However in the poker world I will still be worse than ever as it is important to remember winning is the main priority and I will do that at any cost.

Anyways it has been a long and exhausting weekend and during the course of this post I had a minitilt and lost £1900 on $2/5 omaha 6 handed. I wish everyone a happy christmas and genuinelly hope you all have a good time. I only hate you guys on the table bar the odd few idiots. 2009 is going to be a tough year in general for the united kingdom so just don't lose focus and think positive and it should see you through.

Poker Students...

Ok bear with me, absolutely wrecked from last night still! Basically put me near a poker cash table and I always end up absolutely drunk! Last night was a Wednesday... the only weekday I will drink alcohol! Ok from the beginingish...

The story just wouldn't be right at the moment if I didn't mention my ex! Well I go to the pub early evening and she is working....she doesn't even work Wednesdays!! Well she did last night, I stand back a few feet from the bar incase she tries to punch me. What is the world coming to, I am scared that the girl I love will punch me! Anyways a few double smirnoffs and I am off on one, surprisingly enough she is actually very nice to me and it felt like olden days! Then myself and my friend John and his son Brad are off to the city bunker. Its a bar/golf simulator place near canary wharf and they have poker tournaments there also, read on....

There is some kind of office christmas party in progress, lots of nice girls and also a £10 freezeout poker tournament. Well I take my seat at the table, as if I can play poker with all these nice girls here! So first hand I don't look at my cards and am all in, I am called. We flip the cards and I have J8s v 88 and I lose...just as I wanted to! Wait my friends are still playing poker so now I am by myself to work on the ladies! Not to worry Brad soon joins me. We get a couple of bottles of Lauren Perrier Rose and are soon on one. A cash table starts, the blinds are £1/£1 with a max buy in of £200. I always just mess around on these and I decided tonight I would train a couple of players, a quick crash course in poker! So I soon find the prettiest girl in the room, I think she was called Natasha but I am not sure. She was from Southend so i will call her miss Southend. Her friend soon sits also, so I basically give them a bit of advice and go to the bar. When I go to the bar it can take a minute or an hour! Not too sure how long I was there for but basically I came back and saw they were involved in a monster pot, the board was KKAT3 and I looked at their hole cards.....they had POCKET KINGS!!!! I just threw all the chips I could see in the middle and to which the dealer said too late the other two guys are already all in. So I said sorry gentlemen I don't know what you have but myself and the ladies have quad kings! The girls have gone from £200 to £500! They absolutely destroy this table, the guys are steaming. Pot after pot they win, I did not dare to play a hand as they were doing so well!

When we cashed out I think I gave them £70 and they wanted more the cheeky cows. They had gone from being too scared to lose money to absolute card sharks! Anyways great night, loads more happened that I don't even remember for sure! If you are near canary wharf give the city bunker a call and see if there is a card game on... especially around christmas as there are always loads of parties going on with all the office girlies from the city!

ex girlfriend AGAIN......ARGHHHHHH

I really can't afford to have my ex girlfriend in my life as she really is the only thing I care about enough that when she is upset I lose my head and then in turn huge amounts of money. In a few minutes of rage it is not hard to lose £5000 online. By the time I calm down the damage is usually already done and the hole to deep to dig myself out.

So I decide enough is enough I have to totally just block her out. So I am playing away then 9pm text comes through from her and reads along the lines of:

'You fucking cunt, you have done something to piss me off again etc get out of my life'

Naturally I reply asking what I have done now. Then she says she found out I took another girls number from her workplace. We haven't gone out for ages and I took the girls number after we split up, it was about three months ago and nothing happens. Am I in the wrong? I don't think I have done too much wrong except perhaps be a bit insensitive. However she always talks to guys in front of me and has upset me before. Now it is not my fault if I am attracted to good looking girls! I am only human, the funny thing is in this case the girl is really fun and friendly.Because she is 19 or 20 my ex calls me a pervert, alcoholic drug addict! Nice! So naturally I tilt, it is time to hit the cash tables. Now absolutely anything can happen as there is quite a lot in my account at the moment. I start with the minimum $500 and immediately I tilt even MORE when it is folded to me in the blind with QQ...

For a while the table changed with a lot of raising and reraising preflop then folds, it seemed as though some players were dumping to others in order to have me covered so with 5 of the 6 players now playing 300bb+ it was too deep especially if some were playing together to continue so I started on a new table and had more success instantly!

Somehow I have escaped a mad tilt session for the second night in a row. I no it is a matter of time before i have a minus £20-30,000 session. Thankfully it has not happened yet. One concern to me at the moment is the amount of times betfair has crashed the last few days, after the cash tables I was playing a $500 and a $750 heads up game and having had several bad beats the site went down for me. The blinds were high and by the time I got back it was game over so thats almost £1000 lost instead of £1000 gained in cold blood. My sng stats have been bad for the last few weeks and I have to fix that. I am losing over the last 1000 games I have played for the first time in ages

When it comes to poker I am like a machine, I can mentally switch off usually and focus on simply winning. I have strong mental reserves and can play 40 hour sessions if required, I can play high stake games or very low stake games. One minute I can focus on a $10,000 game and then the next game play for $32 and still focus regardless of if I won or lost the high staked game prior. However there is something now that makes my game weak at times...read on.....

My ex girlfriend! I have never known anything like it, sure she is absolutely amazing in so many different ways but how can I let her affect me so much! I have several huge losses, well huge for me 10-20k after having argued with her. Now we are not on speaking terms again....until tonight. I have played a little today and am playing well, then I notice on msn she has just signed in online. I start talking and we are getting on fine then every other minute she just rages at me! I am playing some $300 SNG and I am taking my anger out on them...only it costs me money! I am going all in and calling all ins level one with jack high and queen high! During the msn 'conversation' which did not last so long I lose a couple of thousand in no time at all. Then as soon as she goes offline I manage to focus and get some back. Hopefully by the end of the session I can get evens. Time to go into robot mode and crush. How daft what should have been a £2000-3000 profit day I will now be happy to break evens! Sure it would be easier to just ignore my ex girlfriend but I find it impossible to! My mental strength in poker I can't seem to use when it comes to her, is she THAT amazing!?

WOW my luck is down, playing well again have $2000 back and connection goes when a $750 and $500 game starts! I log into my usually reliable neighbours wireless and that is down also! I feel a tilt coming along! Someone logs into my account for me and loses the $750 game to a bad beat, nice.

Well thats it steaming now, even though I have won most of the money back! Going to have to just try and get the ex out of the system, went out with a friend on Friday and he took me to some girls house where it was just us two, four girls and one gay guy then on Saturday we end up in some village somewhere with 9 girls we met at a club in London! Yet I still can't stop thinking of her! So so so so so frustrating, sorry if this post rambles but I am kinda muddled up at the moment! The lucky streak ends.....?

I go to the pub today to meet a few friends and get some dinner and decide to see if my lucky streak is still running. I put a few pounds in the fruit machine and for the 4th or 5th time in a row now it gave me the mega streak and £45. Then a football match starts, I don't bet so much nowadays but to have an interest I put £100 on. My friend assures me it will be Everton 2-2 Aston Villa. Aston Villa are leading 2-1 when in the last minute of the game Everton score to make it 2-2. My friend jumps in the air, but wait....with a few seconds of the game left Aston Villa break away and win the game 3-2. Was that the end of my lucky streak? HELL NO, I had backed Villa to win. UNBELIEVABLE!

I use the word luck often yet I don't really believe in it, most of the things that happen in life are because we make them. Sure you can be unlucky and be in a car crash, but if you never chose to go in the car it would not have happened. Everything that happens is part of a chain of events. In poker you may lose AA v 27o but if you actually play good you will realise it is just variance and not bad luck. AA can't win everytime. Luck is something that losers rely on to occasionally be a winner.

Just to extend my now renamed 'hot streak' (seeing as the word luck is now erased)... my ex girlfriend is kind of speaking to me now. It is a long and difficult path but at least some progress is being made. Do I wan't to go out with her again? I don't really know, I just know she is very special to me so I have to at least get rid of some ill feeling which was created by other people intefering.

I come home with a few hours left on the weekly leaderboards and sure as night follows day I record another success to make it 9/9 weeks. I even almost managed to check raise somebody on the flop, turn and river earlier. It is very hard to do this in poker, most of all because if you have check raised somebody on the flop and turn you won't usually check the river as it is most likely they check back and you have missed a value bet. In this instance I knew my opponent pretty well and correctly assumed that if I checked the river he would fire. It's just a shame he did not bet less so that I could reraise...

My aims for this week are to win the top two leaderboards to make it ten in a row, lose 4lbs in weight, go to the gym at least three times and most importantly of all make some progress in rebuilding relations with my special girl. Talking of girls, more mystery was put on me today with regards to the absolutely stunning girl in Las Vegas. She had just vanished when I went back to Las Vegas and I could not work it out. I left a door open by speaking to a man in Vegas who can do things and two weeks later today i recieve an email:


Lee,Its Rudy in Las Vegas. I met you at the taxi line at ######## Hotel and Casino. I just wanted to follow up with you on the status of Corina the ###### Dealer. I haven’t been able to locate her. I have spoken to almost all the other #####dealers, some know her but haven’t seen her. I checked all the work schedules and there is only one Corina and she is on a LOA ( Leave Of Absence). Some words have been blanked out for obvious reasons. So I meet an absolutely stunning girl who invites me to go out for ice cream with her and a week later she has simply vanished. Very weird and hopefully someday I get to the bottom of this! What a year first I mess up with the world's most amazing girl, and then I mess up with the world's most beautiful girl! Time for some sleep goodnight people and remember life is about making good decisions and not getting lucky.

Mr Lucky....

Lately everything I touch turns to gold. The last four visits to the pub I have won the jackpot in the fruit machine for just a few pounds, if I put a bet on a horse it wins, if I back a football team one goal down in running they will win. One of my friends said today you are so lucky with money but unlucky in love. I agreed but then when I got home I thought about it, it is not luck...it is what you make of a situation. When you mess up putting it down to bad luck is the easy option, I am so lucky in love. I met the dream girl but I did not make the most of it and I MESSED it up, nothing to do with luck. I am confident that I can rectify the situation also as it is not down to luck. Whatever I say she won't believe now but the bottom line is her new guy is seeing other girls behind her back, kinda funny as she is so beautiful and he is hardly the best looking guy in the world. I may make mistake of saying and doing silly things but I would never be stupid enough to two time, especially if my girlfriend was so amazing and beautiful anyways! Well anyways I will take a back seat now and hopefully she finds out sooner rather than later what he is really like. Now onto poker...

Cutting back on alcohol lately as I do so many silly things when drunk. So I have just three drinks in the pub watching the football today and go home early, I see mr NORI in a $10,000 SNG and insta join. If I win I double my average weeks profits and if I lose i lose a weeks money. For this reason I decide to sell 50% of the game to somebody else. I am confident my edge is so big over the guy I generally don't want to be getting chips in unless I am 80%+ to win. After all its $20,000/£14,000 for the winner. Well if I played those hands well or poorly irelevent now as I won the $20,000. Another success at the highest of stakes!

Now for the leaderboards, they have run for 8 weeks and I have won the top two all 8 of those weeks. One day to go this week and I am second on both. Usually I would sit in the games of the leaders and crush them but this week one is a friend and the other is a decent guy so I will do it the harder way and just hammer the tables for a few hours! The guy on the second leaderboard is really going for it, poor git hasn't a chance yet like the others he still tries. I am holding so much back in reserve at the moment and simply doing the bare minimum to win the leaderboards and get the $2000 a week bonus. I was actually thinking about not winning them this week but then decided seeing as I have won them every week since they started I may as well keep it up.

Several posts back I posted some new year resolutions, one was to make £250,000 in 2009. Well I have scrapped all plans now and made new ones. Money means fuck all in life, I can be self centered and I wish to change that. So my main priority in 2009 is to be more thoughful and hopefully make amends with my ex girlfriend and be there for her when she finds out her new guy is a cheating rat.

Now I have just remembered the reason I made the initial title 'Mr Lucky'. Leaving the pub after the football when I bumped into a guy I know. I know him through friends and his wife, she died recently from cancer...she was only in her forties. Lovely lady who died so young and left behind a man with children again so young yet lost his loved one. Unless your life is utter shit it is such a stroke of luck simply being alive, everytime I feel sorry for myself I see something that makes me realise how lucky I am. Today it was the reminder of such a nice lady dying so young from cancer, in Las Vegas it was seeing the person with one leg. I must remember to stop complaining when things go wrong. I am so lucky in so many ways. 2009 will be a great year I can feel it, to do my bit I am going to make the effort and try to become a better person generally. Hopefully by the end of 2009 I am back with the lovely Scarlett and sod the money it means nothing! Either way I will be a better person. On a side note, new diet is going well. First week and I have lost 5 pound. Simply by only drinking at the pub three days a week! Well on target to lose 2 stone by easter and get that 6-pack back! Life is great, poker is great, god bless England!

Bit of an up and down day, winning $2000 pretty fast on $10/20 6 handed omaha but not being on top of my game today soon losing the money plus some more on tournaments, then pulled it back again so sitting couple of thousand dollars up when a player who is not so great is spotted in a $10,000 tournament. Can I have been called by the worst possible hand in poker and end up missing out on $20,000? Nah of course not, I come back from there and go on to win! So the day is saved. Nothing too exciting to talk about, so back off for some tournaments now...

Time for a break....

December is here and the countdown to Christmas is on.The last two months has been a bit draining physically and mentally. It looks like I have won the heavyweight and middleweight leaderboards on betfair for the 8th time (every week since they started) and I don't know if they will run them in the future. Either way it was a nice £10,000 bonus over two months. Only one week was there any danger of anyone beating me but i pulled through.

Now this year has been very eventful and I am going to try and have a quite finish to the year without much drama. Pokerwise my game improved but I had around 10 £10,000-£20,000 losing sessions. In the last few months I have avoided any of these and my bankroll is now at its highest ever. If I can continue to eliminate big losing sessions I am guessing that in 2009 I will make in the region of £250,000 so that is my aim pokerwise in 2009. I rarely actually tilt for poker related reasons, the one that gets me a lot is women! I have previously posted about how in Las Vegas I met the world's most beautiful woman. Also in 2008 I dated the world's most amazing woman for around 5 months (how can anyone put up with me for that long!). I actually had the five week holiday in America to try and clear my head and it worked, until I saw her again! Big mistake me letting her go and i am guessing I have lost around £50,000 on poker because of it! Still maybe she will take me back one day, who knows! If I ever had the choice between the world's most beautiful girl and the world's most amazing girl I would definitely be choosing Scarlett every time as no matter what I do to try and escape her powers I end up loving her more than ever. Still chances of that are slim and in 2009 I may try and avoid having any relationships. Spent a couple of hundred grand on a flat 2 minutes from ex girlfriends home and workplace, then break up before I even move in.....6 months later the flat is still empty. I must sort it out, still that is typical of me...the biggest investment I have ever made and it doesn't bother me at all. I am never motivated by money, well that is a lie as we all are at times. Other things drive me on though and in poker the money is just a byproduct of the things motivating me.

Talking of motivation outside of poker I have been letting myself down for the last few years, I rejoined a gym a few months ago and have hardly been there since. By mid 2009 I WILL have my weight back down from 14.5 stone to under 13 stone. This is the time for me to focus on something other than poker and have less time to think about the amazing girl I let go. I cannot let poker drain as much of my resources in the future as it has done in the last few years. Things like taking a laptop on holiday (it was the first time I had ever done that) I will end. I am in Cancun with an amazing girl yet every day I slipped off for a few hours to play poker. In two weeks I made £20,000 yet now I would pay double that to have the missing hours back to spend the time with her. So basically 2009 will see me making more money than ever due to eliminating tilt sessions yet at the same time I will not play as much as this year. Come 2010 I will hit poker hard and enter quite a lot of big live tournaments.

My new lifestyle is going to see me cutting back on drinking alcohol also, at most now I will go out and have a drink twice a week. Going out getting drunk won't ever help me get my amazing girl back, being sensible and getting in shape and being motivated will.

I won't be updating this blog for a while as my life is going to be pretty dull for a few months. I may be a bit crazy around New Years Eve so possibly then. So wishing everybody a happy christmas and good new year. Remember to stay focused on what really matters, if you have a great girlfriend/boyfriend don't let them go. Do whatever it takes to keep them as if you don't you will regret it later.
